Photomontage: Reframing the Familiar
Inspired by Adrian Brannan’s analogue collage process, this project reimagines Singapore’s Chinatown Temple and Marina Bay Sands(locations) through meticulous photomontages. Like Brannan, I captured hundreds photographs from multiple vantage points, at different times, to reveal the city’s energy. I layered hundreds of images digitally, assembling a complex mosaic that blurs the line between photography and painting. This process allowed me to construct a vibrant, multifaceted cityscape cohesive from afar, yet rich with detail. My intent was to move beyond a single viewpoint, creating an immersive visual that rewards careful observation and reflects the ever-changing character of the place.
